All my life I have hated men in suits Mitres & ballis and steel capped bootsAbuse caused me to put them all in the one boatevil & macho and not trusted to vote Until I went to York Minster with CSSA to hear About a book which we survivors had written that year For the first time I stayed in the same room as not just a man but a vicar Who spoke very gently and listened with one earHe looked at me as if I was talking sense And said survivors see out of an extra lensHe said that the church had a lot to discern And he hoped I'd keep going to help them learnI never saw him about for a couple of years Mainly cos I was very north and he was very south I'd started a new job working with women in need Who had suffered abuse and sacked the creedThen lo and behold the 'time for action 'backed up supported and demanded interactionThis man in the suit was at it againThis tine his ear had moved into a pen God was working very hard in me Through love and safer space and a calling to beA minister with those who life had out ran Healing my hurt through this gentle man Who laughed at my jokes, quoted my views Said I lit up the room with colour I should never lose I tell you this not at all for me But to show the real man that is David G humility compassion one of a kind Loved by many And what hope he has left behind !!
